Note: road closures within Llandudno may exist during individual events advertised on this site. Please check individual event information, and your travel provider for potential road closures in place.

🚌 Bus

There are several key Arriva Bus services to Llandudno:

  • 12 / X12 (Rhyl - Llandudno): Main coastal route.
  • 5 / 5C / 5D (Caernarfon / Bangor - Llandudno): Primary route from the west.
  • 13 (Prestatyn - Llandudno): Connects eastern coastal towns.
  • 26 (Great Orme - Llandudno): Local service connecting to the Great Orme.
  • 19 (Betws-y-coed - Llandudno): Connects inland areas.

🚂 Train

The main rail services to Llandudno run from Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and Holyhead. Journey times and tickets can be found at Transport for Wales, Avanti West Coast or National Rail.

Travel from:

  • Chester: 45-60 minutes (direct, many services).
  • Manchester (Piccadilly/Airport): 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Liverpool Lime Street: 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes.
  • London Euston: 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours (usually requires a change, often at Chester).
  • Holyhead: 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.
  • Local Transfers: 5-minute direct train from Llandudno Junction to Llandudno.

🚗 Car

Llandudno is accessible from the A55 North Wales Expressway. Primary routes to the A55 are from:

  • North: M6 Southbound, M56 and M53 towards Chester/North Wales
  • Midlands and South: M6 Northbound and M56 towards Chester/ North Wales
  • Local Access: Follow the A547 or A546 via the coastal road from Rhyl or Colwyn Bay.

📶 Wi-Fi and Mobile signal

Llandudno's beautiful coastal setting means you might find mobile signal and Wi-Fi a little patchy at times — especially during busy weekends or large events when networks get overloaded. But don't worry — here's what helps:

  • Signal can vary by spot — the promenade and pier often have stronger coverage than the Great Orme or West Shore.
  • Public Wi-Fi is available in some eateries, and other establishments in parts of the town centre — just ask staff if you're unsure.
  • Download essentials in advance — maps, tickets, or event guides work best when saved offline.
  • Stay connected the old-fashioned way — meeting points, printed guides, and friendly locals go a long way!
